Elaine Wong received her Ph.D. (2002) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She is currently an Associate Dean and Professor with the Melbourne School of Engineering. Her current research interests are in low-latency communication networks and prescriptive analytics to facilitate human-tomachine/robot applications over the Tactile Internet. Elaine has previously served as Associate Editor on IEEE/OSA Journal of Optical Communications and Networking, and IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology. She currently serves on the ECOC Technical Program Committee “SC7 – Fibre based networks ” and the OFC Technical Program Committee “N4: Optical Access Networks for fixed and mobile services”. Elaine is a Fellow of the Optical Society (OSA).
