Theme: C6. Optical and Photonic Metrology

Patrick Gill is a Senior Fellow at the UK National Physical Laboratory, and co-Director of the NPL Quantum Metrology Institute, with visiting professor positions at the University of Oxford and Imperial College. His research interests include high-accuracy trapped ion clocks and atom optical lattice clocks, frequency comb metrology, time and frequency transfer techniques by optical fibre and satellite, and low SWaP microwave and optical clocks for space and comms networks. He served on international metrology Consultative Committees for Time & Frequency and for Length over the last 25 years. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2016.
